How can I change my booking on Rentcars?

Need to make changes or add extras to your booking? All of this is possible, read more details.

Changing your booking on the website:

  1. Log in to your Rentcars account.

  2. Go to the "My Bookings" tab and select the booking you wish to change.

  3. Click "Modify Booking" and follow the instructions to complete the change.

Changing your booking via online chat:

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Access the customer support center by clicking "Help" and then "Online Chat" in the menu.

  3. Start a conversation with Carol, our virtual assistant, and make the changes directly in the chat. You’ll receive confirmation on the same screen!

Will changing the booking affect the price?

Yes, the price may vary depending on vehicle availability and the chosen category. Prices may be adjusted during periods of high demand.

Price increased after the change

If your modification results in a price increase, you will need to pay the difference to confirm the change. If payment is not completed on time, the booking may be canceled.

Price decreased after the change

If the modification reduces the booking price (for example, by selecting a lower-category vehicle or shortening the rental period), the difference will be refunded, or, if fully paid with Cashback, the remaining amount will be credited to your account and can be found under "My Wallet."

What if exchange rates change after modifying my booking?

The booking price may be recalculated based on the exchange rate at the time of the modification. If the change involves a different currency, the booking price will be converted, and it may vary depending on the exchange rate at the time of the change. Should the currency change increase the price, the difference must be paid to confirm. If the change decreases the price, the difference will be refunded.

Discount coupon: will it still apply after a change?

The originally applied discount coupon may still apply depending on the type of modification made, but please check the coupon’s terms, including its validity period and if the selected rental company accepts discount coupons. If you have a digital wallet credit applied, it will be automatically reapplied after modifying your booking.

Will my cashback remain valid if I change my booking?

Yes, in many cases, the cashback received will remain valid after a change, but it may vary depending on the promotion terms, whether the selected rental company accepts cashback, and if it’s within the validity period. If the modification qualifies, cashback will be automatically reapplied after the booking is updated.

What happens to RentalCover if I modify my booking?

You can modify your booking even if you purchased RentalCover insurance, but the coverage may need adjustment according to the new booking details. You’ll need to add RentalCover again, and the coverage cost may change based on the new terms.

What happens to Rent Protection if I modify my booking?

You can still modify your booking if you have Rent Protection, but the coverage may need adjustment according to the new booking terms. Rent Protection will be automatically reapplied after the modification, and the coverage cost may vary.

How will I know if my modification was successful?

After requesting a modification, we will communicate by email with updates on the status of your request. Once your booking change is complete, you will receive a confirmation email with all the updated details.

What is the deadline for modifying my booking?

Some rental companies may charge retention fees and not allow modifications within 48 hours of the vehicle pickup time or apply fees for cancellations within this period. Please check the specific cancellation policy of the rental company before requesting changes; you can find this information in your booking confirmation voucher, sent via email or available in “My Bookings” on your account.

  • Changes should be made in advance, especially during high-demand periods.

  • The rental company's cancellation policy may influence the booking modification or cancellation.
