What is Cashback?
Cashback is part of the Rentcars rewards program. With it, you get a portion of the value paid for your reservation back in the form of credits. This exclusive benefit can be used to secure discounts on future reservations.
When will I receive my cashback?
The Cashback credit is automatically released after the confirmation of the reservation's usage, a process carried out by the rental companies themselves. Thus, when you make a reservation, the status of your credit will appear as "pending" in your Digital Wallet statement, indicating that it is awaiting the completion of the rental and validation by the rental company with Rentcars. After this step, the amount will be "available" in your digital wallet to be used for new reservations.
What are the timeframes for cashback release?
The release timeframes vary according to the type of reservation and the applicable rules:
For Brazil: 40 to 60 days after the reservation's usage.
For other countries: 50 to 70 days after the reservation's usage.
Important: The timeframes start counting from the confirmation of usage by the rental company. It is not possible to speed up this process.
How to Use My Cashback?
When available, Cashback can be applied on the payment page, before finalizing your reservation, and will be visible above the discount coupon field.
If the total price of the reservation is greater than the Cashback credit, you will need to pay the difference. If it is less, the remaining Cashback will remain available in your Digital Wallet.
It is important to remember that Cashback can only be applied to prepaid reservations (in the online payment method). Pay attention to the expiration date to not let the Cashback expire!
What is the Validity of My Cashback?
Your Cashback credit expires in 18 months from the moment it becomes available in your digital wallet.
Log in to your account.
Visit the “My Wallet” or “RentRewards” section.
Why Couldn’t I Use My Cashback?
If you were unable to use the Cashback available in your wallet, it is important to check a few points:
Cashback can be applied at all rental companies, including those with their own retention;
The cashback is valid for up to 18 months after being made available in your digital wallet;
Reservations issued through partner websites that offer discounts are also not eligible to generate Cashback.
Reservations paid entirely with Cashback do not generate new Cashback credits.
Reservations over 28 days (monthly rate) generate cashback.
What happens to my Cashback if I cancel my booking?
If you cancel a booking before using it, the cashback will not be generated, as it is only granted after the car rental company confirms the service was used.
However, if you had already used a cashback credit on a booking and that booking is cancelled, the used amount will be returned to your Digital Wallet, as long as it is still within the validity period (18 months from the initial availability).
What happens if I don't use my cashback within the validity period?
If the cashback balance is not used within the 18-month period, it will be automatically canceled and cannot be recovered.
Can I use my cashback on any reservation?
You can use your Cashback to pay for online reservations only and you have up to 18 months from the release date to use your balance.
Important!
It is worth noting that the credits are issued for promotional purposes, therefore, they have no monetary value and cannot be transferred to third parties or converted into cash and/or other digital currencies.
