Payment Refund: credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay
For credit card payments, the amount will be refunded to the same card used at the time of booking. The refund will be available within three statements, and this timeframe depends on your card issuer.
Additionally, for older transactions, some credit card issuers require the refund to be processed via bank transfer. In this case, the amount will be refunded to the original payment account or to the bank account provided at the time of cancellation. Once the details are submitted, the refund will be processed within 5 days.

I Noticed an Extra Charge and Want to Request a Refund
If you notice an extra charge on your credit card and wish to request a refund, first check the optional services and add-ons included in your booking, such as a full tank, cleaning fee, additional driver, toll fees, or a child seat.
If you did not request any of these services, contact the rental company as soon as possible to clarify the charges.
I Haven’t Received My Refund Yet
First, check if you received a cancellation confirmation email or if your booking appears as canceled in the “My Bookings” section on our website.
If the booking is already canceled and the refund has not been processed within 5 days, contact your credit card provider or the financial institution responsible for the payment. Depending on the card issuer, the refunded amount may only appear on the next credit card statement.
Important: Be mindful of the deadlines! Some rental companies may apply fees for cancellations made outside the allowed period.
The Refund Amount Does Not Match the Total Paid. Why?
Make sure your booking was canceled in advance. Cancellations made after the scheduled pickup time (no-show) or due to failure to meet rental requirements may be subject to cancellation fees.

To track your refund, wait for the amount to be returned to your credit card. The process will be completed within up to 5 calendar days after receiving the cancellation confirmation email. In some cases, this period may be extended depending on your financial institution.

What Happens If I Don’t Show Up to Pick Up the Vehicle? Will I Get a Refund?
If you fail to pick up the vehicle at the reserved date and time, a retention fee of 20% of the total booking amount may apply, or in some cases, the full amount may be withheld. This policy varies depending on the rental company’s terms and conditions established at the time of booking. For Pay-at-Pickup reservations, if payments are incomplete or the customer does not arrive at the scheduled time, the reservation may be automatically canceled, leading to full or partial retention of prepaid amounts. Some companies may allow a delay of up to 29 minutes before auto-cancellation applies.

What to do in case of delayed refunds?
First, to confirm whether your refund is actually delayed, follow these steps:
Retain copies of your booking and cancellation vouchers and monitor email for updates. Check your email for the cancellation confirmation message, or log in to your account and check under “My Bookings”. If the cancellation has not been confirmed, the refund process will not have started yet;
Confirm the refund date provided by Rentcars. Refunds are initiated within the mentioned processing period;
If the cancellation was requested after the vehicle pickup deadline, you will need to wait for confirmation from the rental company that the reservation was not actually used. Only after this confirmation will the refund process begin;
Check with your bank whether the refund amount has been credited, or if it was credited but is temporarily held.
